Ruth J Jamieson created artwork and designs in a variety of themes influenced by interests in nature, spirit, science and fantasy. Viewers have described her fractals as imbuing them with the same surreal wonder that they feel when looking up at the stars on beautiful clear night. She felt that same wonder when creating all her images, as well as immense gratitude for the inspiration that brought them into being.
Drawing, painting, fiber art and many other types of artwork were part of her life since early childhood.
Her artistic training included grade school art lessons, personal experimentation, some College graphics courses and pottery classes.
Life as a ‘professional’ artist began for her in 1994.
She became a potter and opened an Artist’s Cooperative. She worked for years in two dimensional media.
